A song about a relationship in which nothing and everything is going wrong. I had this vision of the soft light and quietness of the moment set out in the first two lines “It was a quiet afternoon, I watched you change you silky blouse”. As I went about my days, what this image was all about grew and became a song. The song references jealousy, but it isn’t really about jealousy, it could be anything that incrementally corrodes a relationship.
